What's going on here?

Taste is a continuum: that restaurant in Paris, the film starring Juliette Binoche, a particular spot you like to look at the ocean from, that coffee shop that makes you the perfect cup every time. Your taste is a unique patchwork across many domains. The things we love drive our conversations and our relationships. The things we have in common with our close friends are some of our strongest bonds.

I don't know about you, but I love finding something new: a band, a movie, a restaurant to try, a new book to read, a sight to see... And I love sharing these things with my friends. I love making and reading top-ten lists. I love unearthing the treasures that are all around us. Wouldn't it be great if there was a place where you could go to explore all of the things you and your close friends love? And what if, while you were there, you actually got to know your friends and your self better?

That's the core of what's inspiring the creation of Jemsaw.

What does Jemsaw mean?

Jemsaw is the English phonetic spelling of the French: J'aime Ça. Translated: I love it.

Who's making this thing?

That'd be me, Matt Silas, a rather tall dude who makes movies (and software on the side), and loves wearing hats. I have been working on Jemsaw for the last year and a half. I spend my days working in the Camera and Staging department at Pixar, and my nights coding after my kids are asleep. You can find me on twitter @matty8r.
